My brother and I visited the Poema del Mar Aquarium based on Gran Canaria island in the city of Las Palmas close to the port.
If you go by car there are two options for parking. The first one is parking at the paid garage or you can park a car in the shopping center for 3 hours free. Both places are about 2-3 minute walk far.
The availability by car is about 20 minutes from the airport, and 40 minutes from Maspalomas.
You can buy tickets online or buy at the aquarium counter before your visit – they accept cash and credit cards as well and the staff understands Spain, English, Deutsch, and some other languages.

Poema del Mar Aquarium has one of the biggest aquariums in the world and spending time is one of the best things you can do. It is a fantastic opportunity to just sit and watch fish in the huge aquarium and enjoy carefree moments as if time has stopped.
The buffet is perfect to drink coffee and have some snacks because there is a small tube for kids where can play together and as parents, we could enjoy some quiet moments.
And of course, the journey goes through the souvenir shop and the prices are not as expensive as I expected.
Kuba’s tip “Let’s run around the aquarium and figured out if the fish is faster or slower”
It is an awesome place and the boys enjoyed especially Kuba because he as a fisherman has the option to see different fish because there is not an ocean in the Czech Republic. The best part was a buffet with snacks and juice (but this is our favorite place everywhere), a tube for playing, and small/big aquariums with different types of fish.
